OCN INTRODUCTION TO BASIC IT SKILLS
This course, which has been specially designed for those who are unemployed but would like to improve their IT skills to give them a step up the ladder.  An ideal beginners course for those who have not done any learning for a number of years.  This enjoyable 10 week course will get you started and give you the basic skills you need to use a computer.

OCR CLAiT 2006
Level 1 Certificate for IT Users
This course has been developed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of IT users whether in employment or training.  The units covered include File Management/Word-Processing (core unit), Databases, Spreadsheets with Charts/Graphs, Internet and Email, Computer Art/Digital Imaging and Desk Top Publishing.  These level 1 courses are available at various times during the day as a complete package (3 units including the core for a full certificate) or on a unit basis.

OCR CLAiT PLUS 2006
Level 2 Certificate for IT Users
For more advanced learners CLAIT Plus 2006 offers more challenging skills for you to learn including Integrated Document Presentation (the core unit), Spreadsheets/Graphs, Desk Top Publishing and Image Manipulation.  These level 2 courses are available at various times during the day on a unit basis (3 units including the core for a full certificate).

OCR Word Processing
This popular course is available both during the day and the evening.  Progression can take place from basic keyboard skills - Initial Text Processing through to Levels 1, 2 and 3.  Additional options available from Level 2 include Medical, Audio, Legal, Business Presentations (PowerPoint) and Mail Merge.  Students on this course are given the opportunity of an OCR Diploma.

NVQ Administration delivered in association with the Dukeries Community College
If you are you interested in working in an office but don't have the skills you need or would like your existing skill recognized this is an ideal qualification for you.  Highly sought after by employees.  This course is free to those who do not already hold a full level 2 qualification, telephone CHUB for more information on 01623 871812
 

Computerised Accounts and Payroll
Computerised Accounts using the industry standard SAGE software is an excellent additional skill for all but particularly those looking for work within an office environment.  Students enrolling on the Computerized Payroll course should have completed a Manual Payroll course or have a good working knowledge of manual payroll. 

Family History Using the Internet
Offered in partnership with the WEA this popular course will provide you with the skills to research this interesting subject.

A selection of taster computer courses to ease you gently into the subject is also available.

These include our popular Make Friends range which provide an ideal route for progression to a qualification.  Subjects available include the Internet, Desk Top Publishing and Digital Imaging.  

We are also offering the more in depth Get Started with Computers, an ideal preparation for CLAiT

Transactional Analysis
This course is designed to help you understand behavior types.  Why people are the way they are and how to change.  It gets you to look at the way you speak and react to other people and how to change that learned behavior to positive interactions. How to change your old themes and life patterns to have positive effective outcomes.  Identifying how to change internal script messages we learned about ourselves in childhood.  Looking at unconscious games people play all day every day and how not to be drawn into them.

Thinking of Working in Health Care
This course is for people who have considered working in this field and would like to explore the wide range of options and opportunities available.
